Jane Louise's Children's Clothing & Accessories

eCommerce Project

With the extent of their digital outlook residing in their Facebook page, Jane Louise's had little to prepare them for the effects of the pandemic lockdown. The challenge was embraced as an opportunity rebrand, commemorating its digital-shift. The creation of an ecommerce platform was but one element of this project, as it was understood that the market was receiving a large upsurge of vendors adapting to the challenges of COVID-19. This project included organic and paid promotion, logo rebranding alongside SEO to increase return on investment. Other supporting technology was to be implemented to help structure the clothing vendors new approach to digital business.

Conducting market research helped to inform decision making before presenting my plans to the owners. Due to a successful pitch, work was undertaken swiftly to meet the set deadline. Working alongside members of their team, I was able to educate them on the processes that were to be put in place, such as data capture and CRM management to help develop a client-base.

Online ecommerce builder: Shopify, was used to design the storefront, making the build quick and easy while agile enough to meet any amends that the owner wanted to implement.

Social media accounts were utilised to prepare for promotion of content and products. Facebook in particular was of interest as its pre-existing audience had familiarity with the platform and would provide a receptive audience to the content and technology used on the site (LiveChat). Social media management tools were setup to reduce time spent by team members who were previously creating underdeveloped posts. This meant there could be a new focus on other business matters that would benefit the business, such as customer service or revenue. Social advertising is planned to be launched in upcoming months.

Product imagery and information was all migrated to an online cloud solution alongside admin information. This is to make management more accessible to the team. This was found to be valuable as it was highly utilised while setting up the project.

The site launched successfully on the deadline and met all requirements set by the client. While the online market is constantly evolving, the project was set up with an outlook to retain my services for future work; This would include CMS management, technical support and consultation to answer queries aiding their transition into ecommerce and SEO.

Whilst being one of my largest freelance projects, it remains one of my favourites due to the range in technical skills I was able to exercise, whilst incorporating elements of creativity and design. I look forward to seeing the company grow in their new digital environment.
